Chili’s have a large menu, and while they don’t claim to be gluten-free, they do have a variety of food items that don’t contain gluten.
Be aware that they do say that due to a shared cooking and preparation environment, there is always the possibility that any of their food could come in contact with other food containing gluten. However, if you aren’t allergic but simply trying to avoid gluten in your diet, you might be able to find some things to eat here.
They don’t have gluten-free buns so you’ll have to order the burgers without the bun and just be careful about what sides you order with your food.

Chili’s History
Chili’s Bar & Grill is a United States based casual dining food chain that mainly features Texas style cuisine. This company is the brainchild of Larry Lavine who founded it in Dallas, Texas in 1975. The original location was a renovated postal station building on Greenville Avenue in the Vickery Meadows area. However, they moved the location to a new building along the same street in 1981, before relocating again later in 2007.
During its inception, Lavine’s dream was to create a decent, informal, full-service restaurant with a versatile menu consisting of various hamburgers available at affordable prices. One of their signature meals is the Bacon Avocado Chicken Sandwich, a half sandwich dish with provolone, sautéed onions, lettuce, avocado, tomato and cilantro pesto mayonnaise spread on top of grilled pretzel roll.
Right from the start, Chili’s proved to be a success story and by the early 1980s they had already opened 28 locations in their native area, all featuring a similar Southwest decor. Three years later, Larry sold the company to an executive, Norman E. Brinker, who formerly worked with the owners of Bennigan’s. To complement their main menu, they also offer other additional food options such as vegetarian items and a special allergen menu. Chili’s also provides a veggie burger that’s specially supplied by the Kellogg Company.
Apart from business activities, the company is also involved in a lot of charity work. They have partnered with St. Jude children’s Center for more than 11 years, raising more than $58 million in the form of donations and private contributions. With continuous support from the community, Chili’s looks forward to helping more children realize their dreams and also lead a better lifestyle. Studies show that as of 2015, the company has about 1,580 locations worldwide, with 839 stores being company owned and 741 franchised by affiliates. Chili’s serves American food that’s influenced by Tex-Mex style cuisine such as Spicy Shrimp Tacos, Bacon Burgers, and Steak.

Summary
Chili’s is probably not the best place to go if you’re allergic to gluten. However, if your simply trying to avoid gluten in your food, they do have a variety of things to choose from that are technically gluten-free. We do wish they did a little more though, as they don’t have gluten-free buns, they don’t provide an actual gluten-free menu, and they don’t make an effort to avoid cross contamination with their existing food that doesn’t contain gluten.
