Denny’s Gluten-Free Menu

Here is the complete Denny’s Gluten-Free menu.

Denny’s Gluten-Free Menu 2019

Denny’s has a very large menu and a lot of it is gluten-free. They clearly mark all of the gluten-free items on their menu with a GF symbol so it is easy to find what is safe to eat. They also make notes on what sides to include with certain dishes to make sure your entire meal is gluten-free. They do note that while Denny’s does not operate a strictly gluten-free cooking environment, they only put the gluten-free symbol next to items that will have less than 20 parts per million of gluten. We do recommend that you let your server know if you have a food allergy or sensitivity so they can take the proper precautions.

Denny’s History

Denny’s is an American restaurant chain that has been in operation for more than 60 years. They are open 24/7 throughout the year. Their company motto is “America’s Diner is always open”. Apart from the United States, they also have locations in New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, Japan and various South American countries. Today, Denny’s has more than 1,600 restaurants around the world with plans to expand even further.

Their story began in 1953 when Harold Butler and Richard Jezak launched a donut stand and named it Danny’s Donuts. Butler’s dream was to serve the best coffee and donuts, while also providing quality service to consumers. In 1956, Jezak left the business thus leaving all managerial work to Butler. Richard went ahead to change its concept from a simple donut shop to a coffee restaurant.

Three years later, they changed their name from Danny’s to Denny’s Coffee Shops to avoid confusion with an LA-based restaurant called Coffee Dan’s. Today, the restaurant serves all different kinds of food including burgers, steak, sandwiches, spaghetti, fish and chips, and many other items. Nevertheless, Denny’s is probably known best for its tasty breakfast items. With the wide variety of meals available on its menu nowadays, it’s hard to believe that Denny’s actually started as a simple donut stall.

The restaurant is always open even on holidays, except for a few places where holiday regulations are strict. Though Denny’s sold donuts in its initial days, this item is no longer available on the official menu. Even so, customers are invited to try the dishes they have on offer, which range from breakfast to lunch and dinner items. There’s also enough parking space for those who want to come in by car. Founders Harold Butler and Richard Jezak probably didn’t foresee the massive success that their business would become when they opened the first ‘Danny’s Donuts’ stand in 1953 in Lakewood, CA. The restaurant is one of the most successful food businesses in America today.

Summary

Denny’s does a great job at providing a ton of gluten-free options while making it easy to go through their regular menu and distinguish what is safe to eat and what customizations are needed. There are a few areas where they could add some more, specifically in the burgers and sandwiches department, as they currently don’t offer a gluten-free bun or sandwich bread. They also don’t offer any gluten-free pancakes. That being said, this is one place you can go and not feel like you have to make a lot of compromises to be able to safely eat gluten-free for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
