Ted’s Montana Grill has a great variety of gluten-free options, a gluten-free specific menu, and a gluten-free bun. Ted’s Montana Grill History

Ted’s Montana Grill is an American barbecue restaurant chain that mainly specializes in bison meat. Their meats are sourced from animals which are generally healthier and better raised compared to commercial beef that’s reared on steroids, antibiotics and growth hormones. Unlike domestic cattle, bison do not rely on industrial or processed feeds. They are free ranging, natural grazing and don’t require synthetic drugs that often interfere with meat quality.

This restaurant is the brainchild of Ted Turner and George McKerrow Jr. who opened their first location in Columbus, Ohio in 2002. Today, they have around 44 restaurants found in 16 states across the country. Ted wanted to share with the world his love for the Big Sky Country and its tradition of delicious food. He also hoped to celebrate a true American icon, the Bison, which once thundered across the Great American Plains. Turner joined hands with his longtime friend George McKerrow who was a pioneer in the casual dining industry, together forming Ted’s Montana Grill.

Thirteen years later, the restaurant is still dedicated to providing the best ingredients, meals and hospitality that perfectly defines the Great American West, while also preserving and sustaining the country’s bison herds. This eatery features the largest bison menu in the world. Once guests enter through their doors they’ll always feel welcome and appreciated by the staff.

The menu also includes signature dishes such as bison chili, which is a popular starter meal that blends red onions, jalapenos and cheddar cheese into a spicy thick stew which can be taken on its own in a standard bowl. There’s also the delicious St. Phillip’s Island crab cake that’s made from lump meat topped with Southwestern seasoning which can be served with kale slaw. Ted Turner owns the 2nd largest private commercial area of land in America measuring about 2 million acres. He uses some of this land to raise the country’s best bison herds.
