The Best Soy-Free, Dairy-Free, and Gluten-Free Bread

I love sandwiches and ever since having to eat gluten-free I had yet to find a good tasting bread. Udi’s bread crumbles and is horrible for toasting.

Then I found Canyon Bakehouse. This bread is delicious! I eat the “Mountain White” variation as the other one has seeds in it which I can’t tolerate.

It is dairy-free, soy-free, and gluten-free certified.

  • Water
  • Brown Rice Flour
  • Organic Agave Syrup
  • Tapioca Flour
  • Whole Grain Sorghum Flour
  • Xanthan Gum
  • Cultured Brown Rice Flour
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Eggs
  • Whole Grain Amaranth
  • Sea Salt
  • Yeast
  • Natural Enzymes

The only ingredient I wish it didn’t have is the xanthan gum.

Let me tell you, this bread tastes amazing and the texture is smooth as butter! In fact it is much better than the cheap bread I was buying before my gluten-free diet.

They also have a Cinnamon Raisin bread which works great for toasting with a little peanut butter.

Where to Buy

I buy mine at Sprouts and Target. You can also find it at certain Safeways. Or you can always buy it directly on Amazon.

You can find a store near you using the Canyon Bakehouse store locator.

I pay $4.99 at Sprouts for a loaf. While that is a little expensive, it is still way cheaper than eating out. And the taste and texture make up for it.

Let me know what your favorite gluten-free bread is below.

  1. Hi Brian,
We are big fans of Canyon Bakehouse too! Keep up the good work and awesome reviews, we’re following!

    • Oh hey ReviewHell :) I tried a loaf of Rudi’s Original and it was pretty hard. But I should probably try again as since then I have gotten a bad load of Canyon Bakehouse as well. I think when it comes to GF, sometimes you get bad apples. So will definitely be trying that brand again.

  2. I also avoid all processed gums (xanthum, guar, carragenean, etc), starches (tapioca, potato, corn, etc..) and corn/sorghum flour so this doesn’t work for me. anyone know of a commercial bread that is made without these ingredients?

    • Julian Bakery’s Paleo Bread just has “Purified Water, Blanched Almond Flour, Organic Coconut Flour, Egg Whites, Psyllium, Organic Lemon Juice, Potassium Bicarbonate” and is OK as non-starch breads go. I can’t have almond flour though, so I just sparingly eat the gluten free options with starches, or just do without any bread type products.
